The project comprised of the conversion of a 50yr old cigarette factory into over 100 Artist Studios of various sizes. Work for this project included a detailed pre-design process in conjunction with the architect to ensure that the services were integrated into the existing structure.
A degree of flexibility for the various functions of the space was required. This was combined with a robust, almost, industrial, specification, given the varied uses of the space e.g., welding, spray painting and sculpting.

The Tron Theatre Board appointed Henderson Warnock as the M&E Design Consultants to develop the existing building and spaces, comprising foyer, box office, café and auditorium. This allowed the development of the new box office and new activities, including the studio theatre. New administration spaces were also developed, to further enhance the role of the theatre. |

This arts centre provides a theatre, workshop and various other facilities. The design of the M&E services was flexible to allow varied use for the different spaces. The project had a tight cost plan; therefore the services design had to be carefully developed as accurately as possible to ensure little variation. Key features of this project included; feature Lighting, under floor heating and the maximisation of natural ventilation.
